26 December 2006 34 Health Centers reconstructed by BJS handed over to Andaman and Nicobar Administration. Program held at Tagore Govt. College Conference hall. Minister of State and Home Affairs, Shri. S. Raghupathy, Member of Parliament, Shri. Manoranjan Bhakta, Commissioner cum Secretary, Health, Shri Aravind Ray (IAS), Member of National Disaster Management Authority, Shri. Shasidhar Reddy, Director of Health Services, Dr. N. Sadasivan, Sectretary Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Rajkumar, International Pragrams Officer, DRI, USA, Mathews Ian Mac Calla, India coordinator, DRI, Mr. Sheshadri Iyer, BJS National President Shri. Shantilalji Muttha, BJS National Secretary Shri. Prafulla Parakh were present to grace the occasion.
 
18-19 December 2006 Management Development Program conducted in Port Blair for 40 Head of the Institutions. Mr.C. Nachiappan, Asst. Director, Planning, Education Department was the chief guest.
 
9 December 2006 Ms. Anjulatha Varma, DEO Rangat Visited BJS office, Port Blair
 
20 November 2006 ORT officials meeting with BJS staff held at BJS office, Port Blair. Team was given a detailed presentation on Teachers Training Program, Disaster Management Program, Smart School Software, Multimedia teaching, Computer Awareness Program, Student Assessment Program and Yoga Training.
 
19 November 2006 Director, ORT International, Ms. Celeste Angus and Director, ORT India, Mr. Benjamin Isaac arrived at Port Blair. They inaugurated ORT sponsored school MS Chouldari.
 
1 & 2 November 2006 Management Development Program conducted at Rangat, 53 Head of the Institutions got trained.
 
18 October 2006 Disaster management program conducted at Diglipur, 25 teachers participated. EO Mr. M.Gunasheelan was the Chief Guest.
 
14 October 2006 Disaster management program conducted at Mayabunder, 14 teachers participated. DEO Mr. P. Gupta was the Chief Guest.
 
29th September 2006 BJS-EDUQIP team gives farewell to Shri. P.K.Roy Nodal Officer (Legal) and Chairman AN-BASIC, who is retiring from service from today after 36 years of service in the Directorate of Education, A&N Islands.
 
22nd September 2006 Director BJS Visits Naval Public School as Guest of Honor for Science Exhibition.
 
04 & 19th September 2006 Meeting held in the Directorate on 4 Sep to initiate handover of BJS-EDUQIP programs to the Directorate of Education as per clause 9 on page 9 of the MOU. Another meeting held in Directorate of Education regarding transfer of programs ownership from BJS-EDUQIP to Directorate of Education. Chairman AN-BASIC chaired the meeting.
 
8th September 2006 Port Blair and surrounding areas shaken by an earthquake of 5.5 on richter scale at 2.50pm.
 
25th August 2006 Assistant Commissioner Mayabander inaugurates 2nd MDP for Heads of Institution of Mayabander zone conducted by Director A&N and BJS-EDUQIP team.
 
24th August 2006 Director A&N Shri. Hemant Misra had meeting with Deputy Commissioner North & Middle Andaman Shri. Vijay Anand IAS to appraise him about BJS-EDUQIP (A&N) Programs.
 
15th August 2006 Secretary Education Shri. Uddipta Ray (along with Ms. Ray) depart from Port Blair to Goa on transfer. Director A&N and Team see them off at airport.
 
14th August 2006 5th meeting of AN-BASIC (the 1st for the academic year 2006-07) was held at the BJS-EDUQIP office under the Chairmanship of Shri. P.K. Roy. Secretary AN-BASIC, and all members attended along with special invitee Shri. Sunil Phadke, Executive Director.
 
10th August 2006 Executive Director Shri. Sunil Phadke along with Assistant Director Mr. B. Prakash conduct 1st Management Development Program for the academic year 2006-07 for Heads of Institutions in the North Andaman zone. The program was inaugurated by DEO North Andaman Ms. Leela Hanif.
 
8th August 2006 Director Education Shri. Raj Kumar inaugurates BJS-EDUQIP Teachers Training Program for teachers of Port Blair. Program attended by all senior officials of Directorate of Education.
 
2nd August 2006 Roll out of BJS-EDUQIP programs for academic year 2006-07 launched with a 3 days Teachers Training Program in Wimberlygunj zone.
 
28th July 2006 BJS-ITEAS team starts its work in the Education Directorate regarding preliminary study for installing e governance in Directorate of Education.
27th July 2006 Director BJS-EDUQIP(A&N) had meeting with Chief Secretary Shri. Shumsher K Sheriff IAS and discussed:a) Implementation Schedule of BJS-EDUQIP programs for 2006-07.b) Completion of construction work of schools and health centers by BJS.c) Grading of schools
 
8th July 2006 1st teleconference between BJS-Pune (HO) and Port Blair Office to review programs and Implementation Schedule.
 
20th June 2006 Director BJS-EDUQIP (A&N) Shri. Hemant Misra along with Program Coordinator Mrs. Minakshi Misra had meeting with His Excellency Lt. General (retired) M. M. Lakhera PVSM Lt. Governor of A&N Islands. They explained entire basket of BJS-EDUQIP programs to the Lt. Governor.
 
12th June 2006 Directorate of Education submits report to HRD ministry indicating their satisfaction with BJS-EDUQIP programs.
 
8th May Director BJS-EDUQIP met Secretary Education Shri. Uddipta Ray and handed over report on programs done during academic year 2005-06.
 
6th and 7th January, 2006 3rd two day Management Development Program was conducted for 25 Heads of Institutions of Middle Andaman zone by Assistant Director, Management Development Program Dr. S. Joshi & Assistant Director-A&N Prof. B. Prakash. The program was inaugurated by Shri. Madhusudan Tripathi , DEO Rangat.
 
3rd January, 2006 Honble Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh arrived at Port Blair. Apart from other programs he was appraised by the administration about work done by various NGO's including construction of Schools and Health Centers by BJS and the Educational Quality Improvement Program BJS-EDUQIP (A&N).
 
31st December, 2005 Director Education, Shri. Raj Kumar spend 2 hours in BJS-EDUQIP office with Directors and team members and reviewed the BJS-EDUQIP Programs.
 
30th December, 2005 The 2nd two day Management Development Program for 42 Heads of Institutions of Port Blair, South Andaman inaugurated by Director Education, Shri. Raj Kumar and conducted by Executive Director Shri. Sunil Phadke and Assistant Director-BJS Prof. B. Prakash.

27th and 28th December, 2005 Ist two day Management Development Program conducted for 25 Heads of Institutions of Wimberlygunj zone by Executive Director Shri. Sunil Phadke, Director (A&N) Shri. Hemant Misra and Assistant Director Management Development Program Dr. S. Joshi. The program was inaugurated by Shri. N.R.Krishnamurthy, DEO, Wimberlygunj.
 
26th December, 2005 BJS-EDUQIP (A&N) team commemorated 1st year of Tsunami. The team assembled in the BJS-EDUQIP office Senate Room. The team led by Shri. Sunil Phadkeji, Executive Director and Shri. Hemant Misra, Director, A&N offered prayers and observed 2 mins silence to commemorate the 1st year after the Tsunami.
 
20th December, 2005 Mr. Suhas Baxi, Director Triple Point Technologies, Donor's for Badam Nallah School reconstruction, inaugurated PS Badam Nallah School and handed over the same to the administration.
 
17th December, 2005 AN-BASIC team comprising of Chairman, Member Secretary, Director-BJS and Assistant Director-BJS visited 3 schools (SSS Haddo (Telegu), SSS Haddo (Tamil), SSS Girls) on a surprise visit to ascertain BJS-EDUQIP (A&N) Program Implemented by the Schools.
 
25th November, 2005 Director BJS-EDUQIP (A&N) briefed Director of Education about the activities to date of the BJS-EDUQIP (A&N) team as well as the schedule for December.05. Secretary (Edu.) was also informed about Shri. Mutthaji having received the WANGO 2005 Award on behalf of the BJS in the Dominican Republic.
 
13th November, 2005 On the occasion of Children's Day, BJS-EDUQIP team launches its programme "Teaching with Multimedia" for 42 children nominated from different schools of Port Blair. The School Principals and BJS Directors inaugurated the programme.
 
10th October, 2005 Crash Course specialist teachers selected by BJS land in Port Blair. Their areas of specialisation - Maths, English, Social Studies as required in the Islands.
 
30th September, 2005 Roll out of the Accreditation programme for the A&N schools begins.
 
24th September, 2005 A&N Team leaves Pune for Port Blair after Induction and intensive training on the complete basket of programmes.
 
10th September, 2005 Formal Induction Programme for A&N Team is successfully completed.
 
5th August, 2005 BJS-EDUQIP expert committee proceeds to Port Blair.
 
29th July, 2005 Members of the Joint Committee (AN-BASIC) appointed.
 
18th July, 2005 An MoU between A&N Admin and BJS for the Educational quality Improvement Programme (BJS-EDUQIP)
 
1st June, 2005 BJS recruits 47 professionals.
 
7th May, 2005 Expert Committee Report is received.
 
6th May, 2005 Sr. BJS officials meet Hon. President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to update him on BJS's Educational Activities in the A&N Islands.

5th April, 2005 Andaman & Nicobar Administration appoints a four member Expert Committee to evaluate the programmes.
 
4th to 9th April, 2005 Showcasing of BJS-EDUQIP programmes at Port Blair - B. R. Ambedkar Polytechnic College & Shiksha Sadan.
 
25th March, 2005 BJS writes a letter to Director - Education (AN) for permission to showcase the basket of programmes.
 
28th January, 2005 BJS HO conducts a needs assessment for identification of the relevant programmes.
 
27th January, 2005 Lt. Governor visits H.O.

19th January, 2005 BJS National President visits Andaman & Nicobar Islands for assessment.
